Wedding Cakes T&Cs

For custom orders:

Reserving the Date

Please email info@oconnellsbakery.co.uk or message us on social media outlining;

  • Date of celebration
  • Number of guests
  • A brief description of style/design required

Once we have made contact and confirmed if the date is free, the date will be reserved 7 days. However, during busy periods, dates will only be held for only 24 hours - you will be notified of this. Please bear this in mind if your wedding is only a matter of weeks away. No booking is confirmed until the agreed deposit has been paid.

After this time frame, the date may become unavailable if;

  • another couple book the date
  • the design of your cake changes
  • other bookings have been made days surrounding the date you originally required

January-March we're very busy booking weddings so the sooner you're ready to confirm your booking with your deposit, the better. 

IMPORTANT!!! We will not chase enquiries. We feel that this is unfair as changes of circumstances sometimes occur and can be upsetting. Booking your wedding cake is your responsibility and we will not be held responsible for failure to book within the reservation period.

 

Receiving the cake

Collection

We can arrange for you to collect the cake at a time convenient for yourselves. Please don’t arrive more than 10 minutes early for collection as your order may not be ready. Collection address is 30 Frogmore Street, Abergavenny.

Delivery/Set Up

We will liaise with the venue to arrange delivery and set up of your wedding cake. This will save you the extra headache that comes with planning the wedding and give you more time to relax. We will keep you updated with these arrangements for your own peace of mind. Price depending on location and availability

 

Liability

Collection: Once your order has been collected from our business premises (30 Frogmore Street), O’Connell’s Bakery will not be liable for any damage caused to your order. We do advise that all celebration cakes are transported on a stable surface.

Delivery: A member of the bridal party OR staff member from the venue will need to sign for the delivery.  Once the order has been delivered and checked, O’Connell’s Bakery will not be liable for any damaged that may occur.

YOU WILL BE ASKED TO COMPLETE OUR LIABILITY FORM OUTLINING THESE TERMS UPON RECEIPT OF GOODS

 

Payments

A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required to secure your booking on your date of choice.

The outstanding balance must be cleared within 28 days of the collection/delivery date. Should you wish to pay in instalments, please inform us ASAP so we’re able to ensure all payments are allocated to your booking. 

 

Cancellations/Amendments

Should you need to change the date of your booking, please get in touch as soon as possible. If we have the new date available, we will be able to transfer the deposit over. However, we will need a minimum of 28 days’ notice to do this. Should the date need to be cancelled and the booking has already been paid in part/full, you will receive the paid amount back less the deposit. Please note, if cancellations occur 28 days or less before the booking date, no refund will be given.

In the unlikely event that we need to cancel your order for any reason, you will receive a full refund.

 

Allergens & Intolerances

All of our cakes and bakes are made in a small kitchen where nuts, peanuts, eggs, milk, soya, sesame, sulphites, fish, barley and gluten are used.  Although we take all the necessary precautions to ensure cross-contamination doesn't happen, there is always a risk that one of our products has come into contact with another product. For this reason, we cannot guarantee they are free from traces of these allergens so we don't cater for allergy/intolerance sufferers.

 

Your caterers may request allergen information months before the wedding. Unfortunately, as ingredients can sometimes change, we don’t supply this information until a couple of days before the cake is due. This way we can give accurate allergen information.

If your caterers are unhappy about this, please feel free to ask them to email us.
